DESCRIPTION

A Model Definition Language for Clinical Decision Support (CDS) is a grammar for representing clinical information inputs and outputs that can be used by CDS engines and local clinical information systems. This model definition language is needed to enable the design and development of scalable CDS resources that can be used across multiple healthcare institutions and health information systems. The objective of this Implementation Guide is to define a grammar for defining the classes and data types that can be used by a GELLO compiler or any other rule execution engine or authoring environment, ensuring good interoperability of CDS logic between institutions.
