Health Level Seven Arden Syntax for Medical Logic Systems, Release 3.0

DESCRIPTION

The Arden Syntax for Medical Logic Systems Version 3.0 is the latest version of a formalism for clinical knowledge representation that can be used by clinicians, knowledge engineers, administrators and others to implement clinical decision support (CDS) solutions to help improve the quality and safety of care. Arden Syntax can be used to create a knowledge base for CDS systems that, when coupled with patient data, can generate patient-specific CDS interventions for improving patient care. The key change in Version 3.0 STU2 over Version 3.0 STU3 is formaly include any FHIR resource creation/update at the remote repository using native Arden Syntax language. This reduces the known 'curly-braces' problem by formally accepting FHIR Resources from an MLM in WRITE staements, which conclude the clinical logic with a FHRI record being created in a repository.
