Notifiable Condition Reporting - Reporting from PHAs to CDC (PSS-2524)

CDC has historically developed "Message Mapping Guides" based on v2 HL7 standards.  MMGs provide guidance for how CDC wants to receive data for notifiable conditions from STLTs.  Data elements are typically identified by the NNDSS and CDC Programs with input from STLT PHAs.  Over time, disparate data requests across guides has occurred.  CDC and CSTE has been working on data standardization for a number of high priority elements.  CDC and STLT PHAs recognized that now that PHAs are receiving electronic data from healthcare (such as ELR and eCR) and it would be advantageous to limit the number of data transformation that need to occur in order for PHAs to share data on notifiable conditions with CDC.
